The diploma of vocational education and training online specifies competencies required to practice as experienced practitioners delivering training and assessment services usually within the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. However the Training Package lists the following preferred pathways. Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:

  • After achieving the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and vocational experience in training and assessment roles within an RTO or similar organisation where the focus has been on competency based training, or
  • After achieving another relevant qualification and vocational experience in training and assessment roles within an RTO or similar organisation where the focus has been on competency based training and assessment, or
  • After demonstrating extensive vocational experience in training and assessment roles within an RTO or similar organisation where the focus has been on competency based training and assessment.

LEARNERS - ELIGIBLE FOR VET FEE-HELP
VET FEE-HELP is part of the Australian Government Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) and assists eligible full fee-paying students to pay for all or part of their tuition costs for certain courses with TAFE NSW Sydney Institute.

You may be eligible to apply for a VET FEE-HELP loan if you:
i. Are an Australian citizen or permanent humanitarian visa holder who will be a resident in Australia for the duration of the unit of study in which you are seeking VET FEE-HELP assistance,
ii. Have or are applying for a tax file number,

Can I get a Sydney TAFE fee exemption?

Some students are eligible for an exemption from paying fee, including:

What about online courses and fees for international students and students overseas?

If you are from overseas and are here in Australia on an international student visa, your visa covers face-to-face learning only.

What are the main challenges of learning online?

Will I have a Sydney TAFE student number?

What is the USI?

If you want to study nationally-recognised training at Sydney TAFE you need a USI.
